Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or case number entered into a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies the response. Boulder County Court Docket does not retain or record those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
When you email us, we retain the message so that we can answer it. The communication remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by law. We do not otherwise provide it to an outside party.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our servers receive routine technical information whenever a visitor loads a page, including:
- The pages viewed and the time spent on them
- Your device type and operating system
- The date and time associated with each page view
- Your browser type and version
- The referring website, when one is available
- The Internet Protocol address assigned to the device
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device. We use them with analytics services to understand site traffic, such as which pages receive visits and where users leave. Browser controls allow you to refuse cookies. If they are blocked, some site functions may operate differently.
What We Do With This Data
- Diagnosing and correcting technical problems
- Routing a search request to the applicable partner service
- Operating the website and maintaining its performance
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
- Assessing which content is useful and where improvements are needed
No Court-Record Data on File
Boulder County Court Docket does not sell, compile, host, or maintain a database of personal case information or official court dockets. It provides general directions for locating Boulder County records through the Clerk of Court, Boulder County Combined Court, the District Court of the Twentieth Judicial District, County Court, municipal clerks, and the Colorado Judicial Branch Docket Search. State judicial files are governed by Chief Justice Directive 05-01 and the Colorado Supreme Court Chapter 38 public-access rules. County administrative records may follow the Colorado Open Records Act process, but that county route does not replace a case-record request to the court clerk. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor data is not assembled into consumer reports or third-party records.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes displayed here. Information submitted through a search box is handled under that provider's privacy policy rather than this policy. Each provider controls its own retention and disclosure practices. Review those terms before entering a query because we do not control them.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to the Clerk of Court, Boulder County Combined Court, other Colorado court portals, the statewide docket service, legal-aid organizations, or outside search tools. Once you leave this website, the destination's privacy rules apply. Consider those rules before providing personal information.
Some advertising providers may use their own systems to follow activity across websites and select targeted advertisements. We do not operate that tracking.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal information. Limited information may be received by:
- Analytics providers that measure site use and performance
- Government bodies or law enforcement responding to a valid legal order
- Advertising networks that place advertisements on the website
- Search partners that process a query you choose to submit
How We Protect Your Data
We use customary security measures for information in our care. No internet-connected system can be made completely secure, however. We work to protect collected data but cannot guarantee that a security incident will never occur.
Users Under 18
This website is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. If we learn that a minor provided such information, we will delete it promptly.
Your Data Rights
Rights concerning personal data can vary with the law that applies where you live, including applicable Colorado privacy and consumer-protection law. At a minimum, you may:
- Request deletion of information associated with you
- Ask us to correct inaccurate information
- Obtain a copy of the information we hold about you
